A message from the owner R.D. White:

"We take your safety very seriously!"

Here's how to protect yourself from gas leaks and carbon monoxide poisoning inside your home:

If you have gas in your home then you have at least one appliance that can create combustion, which means the potential for carbon monoxide poisoning (AKA C.O. Poisoning), and of course gas leaks can create the potential for a fire or explosion.
But with the right precautions and knowledge in place it is very safe to use gas.

On the market is a C.O. and Gas leak detector available to all homeowners, and everyone with gas in their homes should have one, and sometimes more than one!
Detecting gas or c.o. leaks early is essential and with one of these detectors it is possible to keep your home safe and worry free! Home Depot sells the best C.O. and Gas leak detector it is called Nite Hawk made by Kiddie and costs around $50.00. You should have one on each floor where you have gas and one near the bedrooms should your furnace ever fail!
Furnaces kill over 3000 people every year when the heat exchanger fails in them and if these families had one of these detectors the statistics would be all but non existent.
If you had a gas leak in your home that was big enough it could be serious enough that a single static charge from opening the front door could set it off and you know the rest. With one of these detectors it would give you a early warning of the problem and enough time to call the gas company to shut the gas off and then we could correct the issue.
$100.00 is a small price to pay for you and your families safety.

A quick personal true story!

Thirteen years ago about 2 weeks before Christmas my brother gave me a C.O. detector when they first came out. I hung it in the hallway by the master bedroom. I was asleep in the bedroom and my wife Dawn was on the couch with our 1st born son (2 months old at the time) and had fallen asleep. I heard a loud noise thinking it was the fire alarm, so I fanned it thinking the wife had burned something in the kitchen and went back to sleep. I was so intoxicated with C.O. that I didn't even look for a fire! A short time after that I happened to hear it again and finally realized it was the C.O. detector and came to my senses and quickly tried to wake my wife and son up. It took me at least 5 minutes to get my wife awake and another 5-10 minutes to wake my son up after getting him to fresh air. The cause for this was as I stated above, the furnace failed. I will honestly say that without that detector we would not be here today!
